In more than four decades of its existence, (MIDHANI) has met the objective of self‐reliance on special material in the country with a great amount of success. Over the years MIDHANI has become a trusted Strategic Material Partner for critical programs and sectors of the country such as Missiles (Agni, Prithvi, Akash, Trishul, Nag), Aerospace (MiG, Su‐30MKI, LCA, Kaveri engine), Army (T‐72/T‐90, Mi‐17 helicopter armoring), Indian Navy, Space launch program (PSLV /GSLV/ GSLV‐mk3, Gaganyaan, Mangalyaan) and Nuclear energy (Fast breeder reactor, PHWRs).
MIDHANI is an organization of national importance catering to the demands of metallurgical requirements for defense‐oriented technologies, which come under national priorities. It is the only producer of Titanium in India.
MIDHANI is a prime specialized metal and metal alloys manufacturing company set up in the early 1970s to manufacture critical materials required in the strategic sectors of India's defense industry and for sectors like nuclear power, satellite launch vehicles, aircraft, etc. MIDHANI started commercial production in 1983 and has since then successfully supplied special metals and alloys to customers in India’s space, missile, nuclear, armaments, and aeronautics entities. The special metals and alloys manufactured at MIDHANI are part of an import substitution strategy, which is designed to reduce India's reliance on foreign suppliers and achieve self-sufficiency.
