Kumbha History
As per the Vedic Literature, the "Srushti" is the Embodiment of "Paramatma". It is said that the Universe is created, starting from Mahath from which Trigunas was created from which the Panchabhutas were formed, leading the Foundation to the observable Universe, these Panchabhutas are
"पृथिव्यापस्तेजो वायुः आकाशः ".., ( तर्क संग्रह: )
i.e., "They are Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space". So we can say that all Panchabhutas are Paramatma Swauras. In Bharatiya view, jal or water is a form of God and hence our Culture treats it as a Sacred one, therefore, we Worship Water in the form of "Holy Rivers" and Celebrate Water centered Festivals like "Kumbh Mela" and "Pushkara". In Rigveda, it is stated that
"आपो अद्यान्वचारिषं रसेन समग्नि स्माहि ।
सयस्वानग्न आगहि तं मा संसृज सर्वसा " ।। (ऋग्वेद)
Which means " Oh Holy Water having Divine Cosmic Power and a flow like Electricity, I am entering the River to take the Holy dip, you Bless me with that Divine Power that I raise like the unstoppable force, you can also sustain the Inner Peace. (Nirmalatvam)
