Vivek Band Campaign 2025: Ancient Indian Games
Objectives
- Reviving Cultural Heritage: To reconnect today’s youth with India’s glorious past by introducing them to traditional games like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Mallakhamba, Gilli-Danda, and more.
- Promoting Holistic Development: To encourage character-building, physical well-being, and mental acuity through participation in these timeless games.
- Instilling Values: To reinforce values like teamwork, fairness, perseverance, and leadership, which are integral to both ancient games and modern life.
- Nation-Building: To inspire the youth to channel their energy into personal growth and societal contributions, aligning with Swami Vivekananda’s vision.
Campaign Highlights
1. Vivek Band Launch:
On January 12th, 2025, commemorating Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary and National Youth Day, participants will don the iconic Vivek Band with the message “Be Good, Do Good”.
2. Two-Week Celebration (Jan 12–26):
Interactive Workshops: Sessions on the significance of ancient Indian games and their values.
Game Tournaments: Organized across schools, colleges, and communities to encourage active participation.
Heritage Talks: Experts and historians will highlight the cultural and historical relevance of these games.
3. Digital Engagement:
A dedicated Vivek Band Campaign 2025 section on the Samskruti Foundation website featuring:
Resources on traditional Indian games.
Stories of youth inspired by the campaign.
A platform to share experiences and reflections.
Social media promotions to reach a wider audience using hashtags like #VivekBand2025, #AncientIndianGames, and #BeGoodDoGood.
4. Endorsements:
Support from youth icons, sports personalities, educators, and cultural associations to amplify the campaign’s reach and impact.
